"Leaders Must Become Designers, and Designers...Leaders"
One of the clearest and most elegant statements I ever heard regarding what it will take to solve society's problems were these words from William McDonough of McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry. The video clip below, in which you will hear him say this, is from the film "The Next Industrial Revolution" which documents Bill and Michael Braungart's work. They have developed an industrial design model that works with nature's principles (such as "there is no such thing as waste; what appears to be one organism's waste is actually another organism's food"), rather than against them.

You can purchase this documentary, which runs one hour and is narrated by Susan Sarandon, here. I urge you to do so. (And, no, I have no financial connection to this film.)
